“Wisdom begins in wonder.” ~ Socrates
Consider the difference between:
“I can’t believe I failed again.” and “I’m proud of myself for trying again…and again…and again…and again.” (than you Diana Nyad )
“I’m hopeless!” and “What would it be like if I…?”
“For God’s sake, just do it!” and “How do I want to feel as a result of having done it?”
“It will never work out.” and “What might be possible?”
“What was I thinking? Obviously, I wasn’t!” and “How can I turn this around?”
“I can never catch a break.” and “How can I give myself a break?”
“I’m soooooo stupid!” and “Why am I choosing to think that?”
“It shouldn’t have been that way.” and “What would it feel like to accept that it was that way?” or even this “Is there a gift in what happened?”
Never underestimate the power of the language you use and the questions you ask yourself. The quality of your life depends pretty much on that alone.
Be curious. Allow yourself to be right where you are. Accept that it happened.
