To the woman who sent me this:
I didn't mean to sway anyone one way over another at all, but, I am truly glad that I helped you consider thinking about your choices more than the " I Can't Wait To Be Thin And Get To Onederland!" I guess that is sort of my aim, "think for yourself." I haven't decided where I'm going with this - it's all on a whim right now.
"I've thought of having gastric bypass for years, I tried once and
was not approved and recently I tried again with a new doctor, new
insurance and what I thought was much knowledge. I
did all my exams, blood work, head consult, nut and even got a date of
July 6th. I also started reading the boards @ ____. Everything was
falling into place so easily I could only think it was meant to be, so
naturally I started entertaining these visions in my head of how great
I'd look and how great I'd feel. How happy I'd be wearing all the
clothes I've horded away for years in the hope that one day I'd be
skinny enough to wear them again.
THEN I CAME ACROSS YOUR POST @ __!!! ( MM adds, the Neurological Study of GBP )
...the
post was a link to the study on patients 10 year post-op and I was
floored. I was further shocked when they edited the article and put
you on moderation (read: censored and what are they trying to hide)
I
have since found your site and am reading EVERYTHING, I don't
understand how a site like ___, who is suppose to provide information
leave out so many important things about WLS. They don't discuss in
details the possible problems nor do they provide clinical information
so that one can make an informed choice. How can everyone be so cheery
and positive about getting their insides rerouted permanently and using
forced slow starvation as a "tool"? I don't get that...
Anyway,
long version short I AM NOT DOING THE SURGERY and I couldn't be
happier. Thanks to you I realize if I am willing to put myself
through "The Journey" and all that comes with it then I am willing to
work hard to lose the weight through a good diet program, a
nutritionist and medical supervision.
I
just wanted to say thank you and I hope that you continue to speak out
and post your knowledge and experience What a great service you offer
when you offer your experience to others to educate them and you do
it in a quirky funny kind of way!! Props to you!!
You
and I share the same sign... both Sagi's.... verbal and shoot from the
hip! So tell me how you really feel goes the saying for us. I'm
wondering what your view is on politics and the war in Iraq??? ummmmm
MM adds: Yep. True Sag here. No doubt. Politics? Gack. No thanks. Dodging the question! You can get the jist of my view though, right? Also, I don't pay much attention to the news because it makes me want to pack my bags and move to Switzerland.
Though, on my results on one of those career path tests I took years ago, it said I should be (in no particular order, but I remember it SO clearly!)
A Priest.
A Political Figure.
A Kindergarten Teacher.
Yep. Not gonna happen. Strangely enough - the only one I'd consider would be an elected official. I could NEVER be a teacher, nor a priest. Yikes!
Anyway, thank you again and keep on keeping on!! I'll be reading"
