Whipping Up Weight Loss Motivation By Mapping

Mapping out your life is a trendy thing to do these days. You can even apply it to your weight issues.

We suggested this to Abby, who couldn't seem to motivate herself to lose her 25 lb weight gain.

Here's Abby's map tracing the origin of her current weight problem.

   I gained 10 lbs around the time of my divorce

      

led to

   I started to feel doubly unattractive

      led to

   I was overeating more, figuring who cares

      led to

   I gained an additional 15 lbs and none of my clothing fit

      led to

   I was feeling all alone plus fat

      led to

   I stopped going out as much

      led to

   I was lonelier and more isolated

      led to

   I was overeating even more

      led to

   Then I got hopeless

Abby didn't like where this map led her. She has now decided to reverse the trend, and she promised to let us know how she's doing.

She said that laying it out plainly like that was a revelation, and it helped her with dieting motivation.
