Here's something to consider when you are dieting, and especially after you lose the weight.
Do your friends support your weight loss success? This is important, because if they don't, it can influence you. Sometimes you may not even be aware that you are being influenced. It does happen though.
If you suspect that any people close to you are more comfortable around you when you are overweight and overeating, take some time to acknowledge this. Then you can do a number things including:
Explaining how important your weight loss success is to you
Asking if they can be more supportive of you
Spending less time with people who aren't supportive, at least until you are secure in maintaining your weight loss.
Seeking out other people who have less trouble supporting you around these issues
Finding an actual weight loss support group
It's hard for all of us to go against what those around us think and feel. The more conscious you are of the problem, the better you will be able to handle it for yourself.
