Weight Control Once You Reach Your Weight Loss Goal

When you have reached your weight loss goal, you are then faced with how to maintain the weight loss.

Old habits can be hard to break in the long term. That's why maintenance is often an "iffy" matter. It seems to be very common for people to relapse into old patterns of thinking and acting, even after successfully reaching their ideal body weight.

What do you do in order to hold on to your weight loss success story?

You plan ahead for the occasional slip. You anticipate the rough spots. This is the way to prevent a slip from becoming a downfall.

So: make a list of people, places, situations, moods, and feelings that you think are likely to throw you off your intention to stay at your lower healthy weight.

Then: develop plans to handle these factors. They may still result in small setbacks, that is natural. But with proper thinking and planning, these small setbacks will not cause you to fail at weight management.
