I am taking a big bite out of life, my friends.
Starting Weight: None of your business! (But I'll keep track of my weight-loss on here for you)
Registration: $174 now, two additional payments of $75 later.
Pre-made meals: approx. $100
Peace of mind: PRICELESS
So today I had my very first appointment at Jenny Craig. I put down my deposit and got my week's worth of Jenny food and away I go.
I
find I am quite excited to get going. I can't wait to be thin again. I want to fit into my favorite black suit- the one from Nordstrom with the pinstripe. I keep thinking about how thin I used to be and how dumb I was in those days to think I was fat. I guess all girls do that to themselves. I clearly was not fully acquainted with fat and was being naive. I can't even look at those picture right now. It's so completely depressing. But soon. I'm optimistic. I'm energized. I'm refresehed... And I am wearing a pedometer! (How's that for a non-sequitr.)
My immediate goals: 10,000 steps a day, 8 glasses of water, more veggies, and a couple of long walks. Feel free to invite yourself to join me.
The first thing they do is give you a couple forms. Like they give you at the doctor's office-- contact info., family, medical history, etc. They bring you in to meet with a registrar and she went over all the different programs, food oprions, costs, etc. She weighed and measured me -- that was STAGGERINGLY AWFUL. She photographed me and I smiled big, knowing I would not have to look at the photo til there was a picture of new-and-improved-AJ to look at beside it. Then they went over all the food and let me cross of the stuff I knew I wouldn't like (only two things!). They have you wait in the lobby and then they cart out all your goodies. It was kind of like a health-food-Christmas in June. Hee hee.
So tomorrow, I will be chowing down on the Jenny Craig Banana Nut Cereal (almonds, which I am not allergic to), a snack bar, a turkey burger for lunch with a salad, cold veggies, amd chicken parmesan fettucine. Oh, and a doulbe chocolate cake for desert. I mean, it doesn't even sound bad, right? I will probably be better than anything I'd bother to make for myself.
Wish me luck, supporters.
