unintentional weight loss of 15% of body mass

Posted by karen

My husband has went from 215 lbs to 180 lbs in the last couple months without any attempt at weight loss.  His appetite is unaffected but he feels weak and tired all the time.

Any unexplained weight loss must be checked out by a doctor. Normally when people lose weight deliberately, they feel more energetic because they are not carrying those extra pounds around. You say your husband is really tired so his weight loss may be a symptom of something else that is also affecting his energy. It could as simple as a thyroid problem, as improbable as a parasite or anything else.
