My simple definition of metabolism is the amount of calories your body burns each day due to body weight, muscle mass and physical activity. Basically it is the amount of energy your body exerts on a daily basis. Everyday we hear ads on TV or advise that people write about which claim that doing this or doing that will increase or speed up your metabolism.
