Wow. It's been a craaazy two days at work. I work in my husbands family furniture buisness and the public these days are getting harder and harder to deal with. I mean I get it, I really do. The economy sucks and we all have to struggle to make ends meet but must we be down right rude?? Ok i'm done ranting. I'm moving on...
Tonight I did my grocery shopping for the next two weeks and also bought some extras for Thanksgiving dinner. This year is going to be a little different, we normally go every year to my father-in-laws' house and have a big supper but hubby's grandmother (nanny) is not doing to well so we will be heading to her house for a simple early brunch/lunch. I have NO IDEA what to bring. I might be hitting up TasteOfHome.com for some tips : )
Tomorrow is darling nieces' second birthday! it's in the afternoon so lunch will be taken care of but I have no idea what to do for dinner, maybe a crockpot meal?? speaking of dinner, tonight was a family favorite. It's so simple and inexpensive ( esp. if you buy the sausage on sale) . The meal consisted of turkey sausage ( removed from casing and brown as you normally would with ground beef) and then add peppers, onions and mushrooms and cook till veggies are tender. Add a can of crushed tomatoes and italian seasonings, garlic powder and a touch of sugar or splenda to cut the acid from the tomatoes. let everything simmer and serve over pasta YUUUUM!!
This week is going to be a little hectic with Thanksgiving this week and trying to finish the painting in the house for the baby's arrival (only 7 more weeks!) but the holidays wouldn't be fun without a little stress. Toddler recieved her school pictures back this week so we will be making picture frame fridge magnets (an awesome bargain at orientaltrading.com) this will make for a fun Thanksgiving gift to hand out to family members. I'll be keeping an eye out for coupon codes and fun Christmas craft ideas to post!
