The Police

I've said it before, music (particularly rock) has been the soundtrack of my life. One band that has provided a number of soundtrack cuts has been The Police. I adore them and I adore Sting. Sidenote: I'm not fond of his politics but as long as he just sings I'm happy :)

I remember hearing Roxanne for the first time. It was 79 or 80. I was around 20 years old and working for Prudential Insurance. We used to head up to San Francisco after work and I'm pretty sure that's where I first heard it. I was coming off a real bad break up and that song really gave me strength, not sure why but it did.

Anyway, I do have a point here, The Police are coming out with a new album and going on a world tour - YES!!!

There are so many of these songs that I just love. I love to listen to Can't stand losing you when I'm feeling all 'poor me,' the lyrics just make me realize how ridiculous I'm being.

Don't Stand So Close To Me is a pure classic. I had a major crush on a teacher in jr. high. He would give me rides home in his car and he would go places with us. I sure hope we didn't make his life this difficult.

Every Breath You Take sounds so romantic. Yeah, it's not. It's about a stalker....... Scary....

Okay, I could talk about everyone of these songs but I'll stop here. Instead I think I'll get the album at police cd, that way I can rock out in my car. I have a number of Police cds but this would be the ultimate one, all the good songs in one place - sweet!!!

The Police are without a doubt one of the greatest rock bands ever. I just wish their world tour would come to Hawaii :(
