The P90X Workout Improves Overall Fitness and Muscle Tone

Posted Aug 18 2009 10:02pm 1 Comment

P90X The P90X system is a 90-day fitness program designed for you to lose weight and firm your body. It consists of 12 muscle pumping workouts, three-phase nutrition plan, detailed fitness guide, and online peer support.

The secret to the success of the P90X program is “muscle confusion.” Most people often make the mistake of getting stuck in the same workout routine for several months at a time. P90X breaks each muscle group down throughout each of the 12, hour-long, workout videos. Each video targets different parts of the body, which does not allow the body to adapt to specific workouts. So, if your goal is to increase muscle tone, improve your overall fitness and cardiovascular endurance, and are willing to devote some time and energy, then the P90X Training System is the perfect workout program for you.

P90X’s 12 Intense Workouts:

  1. Chest and Back
  2. Plyometrics
  3. Shoulders and Arms
  4. Yoga X
  5. Legs and Back
  6. Kenpo X
  7. X stretch
  8. Core Synergistics
  9. Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps
  10. Back and Biceps
  11. Cardio X
  12. Ab Ripper X

I'm a 63 year old, 5'2", 130 LB. female, somewhat active in that I ride bicycle 20-25 miles 3-4 times a week, weather & time permitting.  In winter I attend spin classes and Zoomba.  I am now retiring and would like to really get in shape and have the time to do it.  I'm wondering if I would be capable of doing the P90X.
