Super Cool Workout Music

Posted Jun 10 2009 12:20am
It's very difficult to exercise without my Zune.

I love listening to music when I workout because it makes time go by much faster. I've decided to share some of my favorite songs that I jam to while sweating profusely on the elliptical. Feel free to share some of the songs you workout to; I'm always looking for new discoveries in the world of music.

1. Dashboard by Modest Mouse. This is a good warm up song by a very fun band.

2. Juicebox by The Strokes. This is a great song to listen to when you feel like quitting in the middle of a workout.

3. Teddy Picker by Artic Monkeys. I love the Artic Monkeys. Most of their stuff is very exercise friendly. This is one of my favorites.

4. Don't Lose Touch by Against Me! This is such a catchy song.

5. Drunken Lullabies by Flogging Molly. Get up and dance to the lively violin melody guys!

6. Chips Ahoy! by The Hold Steady. These guys are gonna be back in town next month. I gotta thank my friend Hupp for introducing me to these guys.

7. Point / Counterpoint by Streetlight Manifesto. Streetlight Manifesto is the only ska band I listen to. Their music is very upbeat and extremely good for working out.

8. No One Said It Would Be Easy by Cloud Cult. Cloud Cult is my favorite local band from Minneapolis. I listen to this song when I need some motivation. Great stuff.

9. Walk Idiot Walk by The Hives. I highly recommend listening to The Hives when you are working out. Their music fuels my fat legs, so I can go the extra mile.

10. Apartment Story by The National. The National is currently my favorite band. Apartment Story is an amazing song and great for a cool down.
