So cheers to my first real blog entry to start off this new year. I am not counting the other one as my real first because to me that was just a blog that pretty much summed up my last year really. So out with the old and in with the new.
After just destroying my body over this past holiday season, its time to start fresh again. I really need to get off all these extra lbs that I not ONLY have put on during the holidays but as well throughout the past year. I have now decided to utalize what knowledge I do know about food..while also incorporating the points system that weight watchers goes by.
I am sure many people are wondering why weight watchers. I guess there are many reasons why I want to use their points system. Some of which are
(1)I really need to grasp the portion control of things for one. I mean I am the first to admit that I still can really go overboard at times(judging from the size of my butt these days its obvious) LOL. I often wonder what we would see from the inside on what goes on in our bodies when overeating or even better..what our stomachs blow up to be like when downing like an overload of food rather then the amounts that we are suppose to eat or were intended to eat. Hm...interesting
(2)Another reason why is because I, just like many dont have money to be paying for a some kind of meal plan. Not only that, but I cannot go with just those meal plans. I really have to learn how to balance the foods I eat. And what better way then to try and do this one on my own while being more serious about it this time around.
(3) The points are pretty basic to follow. Another reason why..its really quite simple. If you have a weighing scale which you can buy for cheap..along with some measuring cups..your good to go. Thats another something I wanted. I dont want to be stressed out at ALL this time around. And if I want to have a cheat I can...once a week wont hurt but I will try and limit that to every 2 weeks instead or 3. But the secret with weight watchers is that unless you want to feel like you are starving...you really need to choose wisely on what your are eating. So there is a bit of work that you need to put into deciding..but I will take that. Its all about learning right and making better choices.
So for example with this diet you should try hard to limit those bad foods for your cheat day but really push and make an effort to have as many whole foods and nutritious ones as you can for at least 6 days out of the week, as well putting much more focus and effort into choosing foods that fill you up more than the extra empty calorie foods (which accumulate many more points by the way in comparison to fresh real whole foods) . SO my personal choices will be loading up on veggies, having some fruits...boneless skinless chicken breast or turkey as my main poultry, eggs...oatmeal, lots of salads..easier on the dressing choosing low fat in this case..(speaking of which I can smell my chicken..think its ready) also nuts limit my milk to one cup if that of 1%. No fried stuff. Baked instead or grilled. Basically a more leaner sort of eating for the most part.
So those are pretty much my reasons for starting to use the weight watchers points system. I am not going to their meetings however I do wish there were some other ladies out there or some of you reading even that would like to or consider doing this with me because I would more than welcome a weekly meeting together in a more relaxed friendly atmosphere as a way to support one another.
I do think having that support system along with a little bit of competitivness does help get you through some of those harder weeks then doing it alone.
Just talking with others in the same situation really helps alot. I just dont want to go to any meeting. To me I find that kind of impersonal. I would rather have more of a get together here at my place instead. So if any of you might be interested in doing this along side with me..then write me! I would love to know that. YOu never know maybe we can figure out something.
So this is it for now. I really need to eat my lunch which will be obviously chicken with prob green beans. I try and stick to more green and yellow and red veggies..and avoid the starchy ones.
I already had a salad..and really trying to drink that water as a ways to rid myself of the toxins I have allowed my body to take in lately.
Its going to be a tough week to get through on this more restricted calories sort of diet..but...I need to learn friends. And i need to do it through a way that I will be able to continune being the mother I am to 3 young kids, a way that I wont feel so deprived and also a way that hopefully will be a more natural way that will be easy to for me to carry on with it, for years to come.
Anyways, chicken ready:) talk soon Rosy
Never focus on what you may have done yesturday or mistakes you might have made....we all need to look ahead at what we have the ability to change instead... for its never too late. So I/WE had a little set back... get over it! Rosy
