I'm slowly edging my motivation level up to get this excess baby weight off. I've been at the same weight for a couple of weeks now, and I'm ready to kick it up a notch. It figures that it's now the holiday season, and I have to do this while avoiding the temptations of this time of year. What helps me? Having the things I need ON hand to succeed in eating well all the time. If there isn't anything for me to have that's appropriate to stay on plan, I'll eat whatever is here that doesn't make me feel sick. That translates to things like easily digestable crackers - all day long. Let me tell you, eating crackers and simple carbs immediately halt weight loss, and for me, cause regain.
So what do I (and all of us that have issues with food) need to succeed? Supplies. (Now, this isn't an ad, I have to let you know that. It's just something I saw today and decided was a good thing.) At Susan Marias' Bariatric Eating website - she's got gift certificates & gift baskets for weight loss surgery folks. ( Along with all the other protein foods, supplements, sugar-free items, etc, of course.) For example, there's a Latte Gift Basket - "contains
everything you need to whip up an absolutely delicious protein latte
drink. Fill your beautiful pottery mug to half with your favorite
coffee, add Vanilla Micellar Milk to desired 'lightness', then flavor
with one of the three mini DaVinci Sugar Free flavored syrups. Enjoy a
spiced Chai Latte too... prepare our Big Train Chai as per package
directions, add Vanilla Micellar Milk to taste..Wrapped up in a very nice rattan and wire basket with a Protein Delite Blondie, and a smattering of our sugar free candies! A fun gift basket that is perfect for a friend or Secret Santa Pal!"
This year, I have a few more people on my list that can't enjoy a big basket of cookies and truffles, which is something that I'd give out this time of year. But, I could get them each a basket of sugar-free goodies, or a gift certificate for them to pick out things to try. Nice. Now I need me some Paypal to go get some goodies over at Bariatric Eating.
