Changing yourself is a process like any other. It has a beginning, middle, and end. Making changes to your eating habits for the purpose of losing weight requires you to go through such a process. It is a process that includes:

  • the realization that change is important in the first place
  • mastering any difficulties associated with the change you want to make
  • maintaining the changes once you make them.

What prompts a person to first think of making a change in weight is discomfort with her current weight status compared to her desired weight loss goal. Becoming aware of this discrepancy is the essential first step.

If how you are is too far away from how you think you should be or want to be, get ready for a process of personal change.
