Organic, Vegan, Glutten Free Candy Bars...

Posted Dec 31 2010 1:13pm
The Wonderful people over at Angell Organic Candy Bars currently have 3 flavors available.  To find out why organic is better for you and the planet check out their site.
But if you want to know about the candy bars themselves, here's what you want to know.
Dark Angell:  I love dark chocolate, of all the chocolates it's always the one I'll reach for first.  I opened this first one up and because I do love dark chocolate I made sure to not expect to much.  I also didn't read the wrapper, so there were almonds that I wasn't expecting.  Good thing, almonds are also one of my favorite nuts.  The outside was smooth comparable to the smoothness of other dark chocolates on the market but the inside was fudging and with bits of almonds.  I would share the picture I took, but I enjoyed it so much that I only had about 1 bite left by the time I remembered I needed a picture.  Oops...but it was yummy.  Also not only is Dark Angell organic but it's vegan as well.
Crisp Angell: Now since I've made some changes in my eating habits, milk chocolate isn't really a weakness of mine anymore.  Same smooth chocolate outside and fudging inside with not to many 'crisps' so you get more chocolate then crisp...so for chocolate lovers, I think would be a good thing.  Again not just organic, it's also gluten free! aSnow Angell: Coconut covered in white chocolate.  Here's what Angell has to say about them "Snow Angell, our sleeper hit. Everyone who tries it loves it. Even chocolate purists who think white chocolate is not chocolate. A subtler candy bar made from creamy white chocolate wrapped around a delicious, organic coconut center. No nuts whatsoever. So good it gives you chills!" I share that because I'm not big on white chocolate, it's always to sweet and well like they said, some people don't think it's real chocolate.  This white chocolate wasn't over powering with sweetness, but just enough to complement the coconut.  I could see why they say everyone who tries it loves it.  I'm glad I didn't judge this one by the lack of  'chocolate' appeal, smooth flavor that is definitely enjoyable. They have a Classic Angell Bar that they are currently working on that I'm sure will be just as tasting as the rest.Thank you to the People at Angell for sending me the very yummy samples.*
The downfall, there are no local stores around me to purchase their bars, click here if you'd like to see if they are available in your area . They are however available online, I just wouldn't want to order a case at a time.
