As the nights draw in, and it’s starting to get colder, this can be the time of year when flu/cold viruses start to appear. However, there are quite a few things that we can do in order to stave off these nasty bugs.
Make sure you get at least eight hours of sleep there has been recent reports that people haven’t been eight hours of sleep. Not only can this cause weight gain, it can also play havoc with your immune system.
Take a herb
For a lot of people who have weak immune systems such as those incorporated within the bracket of diabetics they normally have a flu jab. However, what about the rest of us if you have never heard of it, there is a herb called Echinacea.
Which is supposed to be able to support your immune system. I myself have bought some of this as I can tend to get bronchitis around about this time of year. Most herbal remedy shops do sell it.
If you can manage to get outdoors for a while then this may benefit you even more. One of the reasons we tend not to go outside a lot in winter is because, when we are young our parents tell us to wrap up and keep warm. Of course there is nothing wrong with this advice, but during the winter 90 percent of the time we tend to be indoors, and this is where bugs and viruses tend to thrive the most and where we are far more likely to become infected.
Even though you may not want to do it in the winter this is a real good way to keep your body and immune system in good shape. However, caution does need to be exercised if you are already feeling unwell, your body will need as much rest as it possibly can get. So please wait until you are feeling better.
Make sure you are eating plenty of the following foods.

Turmeric in case you’re wondering what this is it is found within curries and is yellow in colour, but no need to worry if you’re not somebody who eats curries as there are plenty of other things that you can eat.
