This afternoon Prashant and I ate lunch at the Museum of Latin American Art's Viva Cafe. I'm so happy that we finally decided to try this place (been driving past it for over 10 years now)!
It was much too nice of a day to sit inside, so we sat outside on the patio...
To drink, I had an ice tea with one packet of sugar.
We started things off by splitting the Ensalada De Naranja Jicama (orange & jicama salad). It was so delicious and refreshing.
My entree: the Enrollado (eggplant, bell pepper, hummus, queso fresco, and a rosemary bun). This sandwich also came with a side of rice and beans, which were served in a small dish with the rice (made with cilantro, I think) on the bottom and the beans spooned on top and shredded tortilla strips for garnish. The rice and beans were awesome with just a hint of spiciness.
My husband is a flan lover, so of course we had to order dessert! Look at this piece- it was huge! I had many bites of this... :)
I also enjoyed a cup of coffee with my dessert.
Overall, I am very impressed with the food and service at Viva Cafe! I can't wait to go back and try their spinach tamales and mango cheesecake! Seriously... mango cheesecake!
Even though lunch was several hours ago, I'm still not hungry so I'm not sure if I'll be able to eat anything else today. Chances are that this will be the last of my eats for the day. Now, I'm off to help Prashant decide on how we should spend the evening.
