Mayo Clinic diet a misnomer

Did you know the so-called Mayo Clinic diet is not endorsed by the Mayo Clinic. The diet – which offers rapid weight loss by eating grapefruit, vegetables, salads and large quantities of meats and fats – is not even endorsed by the clinic. Individuals who have gone on this diet, says the American Chronicle, claim rapid weight loss of up to 52 pounds in two months, but this likely is because the diet is high-protein, high-fat.
