I like winners, but I'm not a winner when it comes to losing these twenty-five pounds. Oh, I've lost weight all right, but I always gain it back.
So, here's the experiment. I'm taking my cue from Maria's Last Diet, and every time I cheat I'm going to ask myself this question: What makes me go off my diet?
Instead of always plotting that tomorrow I'll do better, or I'll make up for the cheat by skipping a meal, or maybe I'd better wait until after the summer - or after Christmas - or after the weekend - whatever - I'm going to do it differently. I'm not going to try and figure out how I can diet better. I'm going to make a study of how, when, and why I keep blowing it.
This is what I call an experiment, because it's a mindset I've never had before. You've convinced me that this is where the answers lie. I believe it's true.
