Make self-control part of your diet and weight loss plan

Think of it like this – you only have so much self control. Don’t we all know it!

A study on self control and drinking reported in Psychology of Addictive Behavior 2005 showed that people who exert too much self-control on non-drinking matters have little left over to control their drinking.

How does this relate to self-control and weight loss? It’s much the same. It suggests that when you diet, you should plan your use of self-control. Don’t squander it. Don’t expend too much of it elsewhere. If you want to have enough energy and stamina to keep to your weight loss plan – with all that it entails – you need to save enough self-control strength to do it.
