Losing Weight: What Happens When You Expect To Fail

Posted Apr 11 2009 12:55am

by Maria's Last Diet

Here's a funny question: What do you expect from yourself?

For example, when you go on a weight loss program, do you actually expect yourself to have weight loss success? Or, do you expect yourself to fail? Think about it.

This may seem like an inconsequential question, but really it's a big one. Because what you expect yourself to do can greatly affect what you actually do.

And if you do ask yourself the question, you need to be honest. If the answer is that you expect yourself to be a diet failure (perhaps as you always have), for instance, then you can start to figure out what you can do to think differently about you and losing weight.

It stands to reason. Expecting weight loss success is much more conducive to succeeding than secretly (or not so secretly) expecting yourself to fail.
