Posted Jul 31 2009 10:58am

THE PODCAST IS BACK ON ITUNES AGAIN! Just in case you missed the announcement by my podcast producer Kevin Kennedy-Spaien’s “State of the Update” post about the show being back on iTunes again, we’re baaaaaaak! NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP to get brand new reviews back up on iTunes again to replenish the nearly 90 or so that were on the old site. The brand new podcasts are being added to iTunes and we’re working hard to get iTunes to add back the archives. In the meantime, you can access the older episodes at the new podcast web site as well as the new web site feed site. THANKS so much for your consistent support through this change for the better. You guys are the greatest listeners in the world!

Mark “Dr. Tea” Ukra believes drinking 6-8 cups of tea is necessary

We all know about about how changing the foods you eat is vitally important for health and weight loss, but how about what you drink? Other than water, is there a beverage that is beneficial for people desiring to be thinner and healthier than ever before? My podcast interview guest today certainly thinks so and he says it is something that most of us are already enjoying–we just need to enjoy it more often!

In Episode 275 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” we hear from Mark “Dr. Tea” Ukra, a world-renowned tea expert whose family genealogy has a long history of being tea connoisseurs. He wrote a book entitled The Ultimate Tea Diet: How Tea Can Boost Your Metabolism, Shrink Your Appetite, and Kick-Start Remarkable Weight Loss that details the weight loss and health benefits of consuming the #2 drink in the world (water is #1). “Dr. Tea” is quite enthusiastic about the subject of tea as you will hear in today’s interview.

Hear him discuss why he transitioned from being a coffee drinker to a tea drinker, the negative effects of drinking coffee (like it makes you dehydrated and raises insulin levels) compared with tea, the specific benefits of the caffeine found in tea, how to decaffeinate your tea naturally, the three-pronged benefits of tea that comes from caffeine, L-theanine and EGCG, creating recipes and cooking with tea, his dream to create the tea version of Starbucks, the countries that emphasize tea-drinking heavily and the impact that is having on health, how to extend the life of your tea leaves to make it an inexpensive, healthy, and nutritional beverage choice, and so much more!

Coming up on Monday, we’ll have a super-exciting podcast interview with a nurse and personal trainer from New Zealand named Rachel Tomkinson who fed her baby daughter Jenna a vegetarian diet for her health until she developed a severe case of eczema with red blotches all over her body. When Rachel switched the diet and started feeding Jenna a high-fat diet, her health immediately improved and Rachel had her eyes opened to the health benefits of consuming fat. Check out this news story from April 2009 that one of my listeners shared with me about Rachel’s incredible story. Oh, you’re so gonna love this one! Then on Thursday, we will hear from Mike Crowley, president of Dreamfields Foods which manufactures and markets a low-carb form of pasta. There have been a lot of questions from the low-carb community about how this great-tasting pasta can be low-carb and I ask Mike the most difficult ones I’ve heard from so many of you. This is gonna be a FANTASTIC week of low-carb podcasting! Spread the word and don’t forget to leave a review at iTunes. THANKS everyone!
