I've been trying to loose weight for a while now and it doesn't seem to be working. I'm 21 weight around 138 pounds and I'm 5'7. I'm not really going for a number here, I just want to feel good and look slimmer. I'm not overweight by any means, I'm just trying to loose some extra weight (mainly on my sides and thighs). I used to run (30-60 minutes a day, maybe 3 or 4 days of the week) but had to stop because of an injury. I'm going to go on a light, small distance run today to see how I feel. I think it's my diet that needs some work. What do you guys normally eat in a day? How do you space it out? How can you tell what a portion size is?

You're on the right track. You should eat every 3 hours (small meals). Start with breakfast (oatmeal), take things like fruit and fresh cut fruit and veggies with you (apples, oranges, etc. -- carrots, broccoly, celery and the likes). For lunch eat protein (chicken or fish) and in the evening protein, veggies and salad. Stay away from bread, potatoes, rice, and noodles at night. Limit your starch intake to the day time and drink lots of water -- you'll see results! Good luck, hope this helps.
