How to loose 5 additional pounds

Posted by Bruce F.

I have been doing cardio the last 3 months and have lost 5 pounds. I have 5 pounds to reach my goal. What else should I be doing to loose additional weight?

That can be approached in a multitude of ways all depending on what you are doing now. For example, you could switch up your workout routine to include some extreme intervals of high intensity cardio followed by lower intensity weights. (Have you been including resitance exercise? That is a must!) You can also approach it with some tweaks in your dietary intake. Can you give some more details at where you are at now and what your doing in general? Hang in there. Keep making the great choices you have been making and you will lose the weight! Good job on the last 5 and don't lose track of that accomplishment!

I agree with Kristy V. who suggested resistance training. Also, interval training like adding sprints to your run will help. Have ever considered Spinning? That's an awesome workout which burns twice as much as running.

The other side you need to look at is your diet and I don't mean you should be on one, simply what you eat every day that's holding you back. You may need to icrease your raw food intake and cut back on the refined foods, increase protein only if you increase resistance training, etc. Are you eating breakfast, are you fueling your exercise because your body will hold on to all it can if you are not eating properly.

Keep at it and try not to focus too much on the number on the scale but more on how you feel at the end of the day.

Good Luck!

Great job on losing 5 pounds! Cardio is how I kicked off my weight loss, while improving my eating habits as well. To lose the next five pound and reach your goal, I would include some strength training in your regimen. Try lighter weights but more reps, it will help boost your metabolism.
I agree with the advice to stick with the cardio and add some strength training. You should also know that losing the last five pounds will probably be considerably more difficult than losing the first five! Try to enjoy your success and not be too hard on yourself.
