Hidden fatty foods to watch out for.

Posted by Swati S.

Chocolates, ice creams and potato chips are known culprits that can make the weighing machine go in the wrong direction. But here are some hidden culprits -- high-fat foods that we consume almost every day and they really pile on the calories -- without getting found out. 1. Coffee creamer. It is high on saturated fat, and best avoided. Use skim milk or powder milk instead. 2. Cheese. High on proteins but also on fat. Go for low fat cottage cheese instead of cheddar or Parmesan. Avoid foods like pizza which are loaded with high-fat cheese. 3. Deep-fried. French fries are known to be fattening, but foods like donuts also fall in this category. Prefer boiled, grilled, roasted over deep-fried. 4. Peanut butter. If you really love it, then limit the number of servings to about 4 teaspoons per week.

Would love more posts like this, very good at reminding us calorie watchers that we still need 'healthy fats' in our diet, but to avoid overdoing it!
