The Nutrition & Metabolism Society is dedicated to addressing the problems of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease through public awareness and education. They’re specifically looking at the therapeutic potential of carbohydrate-restricted diets for the treatment of a variety of diseases and now believe this particular way of eating is under-investigated and under-utilized. NMS seeks to support research in this area and their mission is to improve current nutritional guidelines and to see that sound scientific information is provided to the public. It’s a tall order, but they believe if we combine our voices together that WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
The Seattle symposium will feature presentations by members of NMS to focus on the best available scientific evidence for carbohydrate-restricted diets in terms of their application in a clinical practice. Can you imagine if more and more doctors got on board with the low-carb message and joined the ranks of other low-carb doctors who are bravely forging a new path for their patients? These are exciting times to see such a paradigm shift beginning to take place within the medical community, but the fight is far from being over. That’s where YOU come in.
While you may not be a nurse or doctor, have the chance to attend a conference like the ones put on by ASBP/NMS, keep up with the latest low-carb science, or stand on the front lines of the nutritional debate of our lifetime, thankfully I do. However these things do cost money to attend and any donation you can make to The Nutrition & Metabolism Society will help defray the costs involved. They will accept your generous gift of ANY SIZE and use it to help get me to the 2010 NMS Conference in Seattle as well as help with the ongoing costs of combatting the misinformation that is put out there by group like the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the American Heart Association (AHA) regarding healthy nutrition. Click here for options on how to give securely and on behalf of NMS and myself, THANK YOU for supporting the cause!
If you decide to donate, then please e-mail me at email@example.com to submit any question you may have for the speakers in Seattle, including Jackie Eberstein, Dr. Mary Vernon, Dr. William Davis, Dr. Jay Wortman, Dr. Eric Kossoff, Dr. Steven Phinney, Dr. Donald Layman, and Gary Taubes. I will put together a YouTube video presentation asking your questions to any of these specific people and share it when I return. I appreciate your generosity in helping me attend this special low-carb scientific conference and I look forward to sharing an abundance of information about what will be shared in Seattle.
