Well I just was contacted by someone from the Heart and Stroke foundation wondering if I would be interested in being an exhibitor at their
"Health and Wellness show/5k Walk for Heart" to promote my personal story/book. What a great honour to be part of this event!! To be able to talk one on one with women about my own personal transformation project that I took on, while knowing that I am helping out the Heart and Stroke Foundation at the same time.
I was really flattered that they asked me..and of course I gave them the "yes I will be there"

Hope that you all consider going and participating in this event! It's going to be real fun, and you all get to have a little extra calories burned as well, while helping out a good cause!

I personally was HOPING that I would be able to do both, the walk (with you guys), AND, be an exhibitor..but its all at the same time:-( so I will not be able to participate myself unfortunately
Next time I guess.

But this could not have come at a better time! Its great to find activities like this around our own city! It gets the bond going between women, and if some of you are serious about having a virtual support group, and want to start getting heart healthy, why dont you take it a step further...and join in...this would be perfect!

***not to mention this could be "another special event day/goal" that you could work towards like myself, helping you keep focused before getting there. Knowing that I have to be there meeting the public that day will probably help me stay on track.

But either way this is a great activity for us all to participate in, its non strenuous, if anything it would be relaxing! We just have to hope for good weather!
I am hoping to take some pics while there....that I would like to post after the event here on my blog.

And... if you havent purchased one of my books already...perfect time as well to do so. If you like to read personal stories, and want an inpirational one to help you get started on your paths to better health..I'm sure you would really enjoy my book!

I will be signing the copies I sell that day as well..and would even love to take our pictures together, and would love to post them on my blog if I could with your permission of course!

Anyways, tell everyone about this event!! Don't forget, if you do decide to go, even if you are not purchasing one of my least stop by and say HI!:)

This event is going to take place on Sunday April 19th. I will be at City Hall on Laurier where the "Health and Wellness fair" will be...

HSFO invites everyone to join friends, family, coworkers and the community, and walk either a 3 km or 5 km route down the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Drive to celebrate your heart health and raise funds for important research.

Walk for Heart is the fun-filled fundraising event formerly known as the Mother Daughter Walk. It’s a non-competitive walk for the whole family to enjoy. Most importantly, on this one special day your family, friends and neighbours come together for heart health.

People can register by phone, online or in person. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 9 a.m., then the walk itself. There will also be a health-and-wellness fair inside City Hall.

Every day this year, 28 people in the Ottawa region will be hospitalized because of heart disease. Heart disease and stroke is the leading cause of death in eastern Ontario. HSFO continues to deliver breakthrough medical advances, effect social change and provide vital health education that has helped reduce the cardiovascular mortality rate by over 70% in the past 50 years.
