How is everyone in blogging world doing? So far my week has been awesome. I have managed to exercise everyday so far .. that's right 4/0 so far!
I had a very busy day today work wise, with challenges that came up with food. Reflecting on the day I am actually going to pat myself on the back for a minute:
Starting off this morning I had to go to a training session, which included breakfast, I thought ahead and ate my cereal at home so that I wasn't starving by the time I got there. And thank goodness I did! All those yummy pastries, sticky buns, scones - oh my calorie disaster, and I didn't touch a thing! I just ate an orange off the fruit plate. Lunch was sandwiches and salad, I found a chicken breast on wholewheat and loaded up from the veggie platter, the salads looked dangerous (i.e. mayo, and a rich Caesar ) so I stayed away. When the desert tray came out I left! (Well I did have to get back to the office!)
At the office someone told me that the desert tray had come back to the office .... uurrrgghhhh... the other employees had decided it looked too good to waste and there was a lot left, so they brought it back to the office to share. Well I dug deep and found the willpower to stay away from it all afternoon :)
Onto early evening, one of my co-workers is leaving after 15 years and we had a celebration for her at a local pub. Again .. challenging ... some healthy choices .. but they ordered trays of chicken wings, I LOVE chicken wings, I put two on my plate and my WW buddy (God bless her!) asked "gently" if I knew the points value, I said I was guessing 2 per piece, she whipped out her book and said nope 9 points for 3, so not worth it, I gave them over to a thinner party goer! I stuck with a wrap and veggies.
I purposely typed this all out, because each and everyone one of those is a big deal to me, 6 month ago I would have ended today feeling bloated and having eaten all the bad things I have listed above. My weight loss has slowed, but I have to look at the good I am doing, I have to keep motivating myself ...
Ohhh and the last piece of my week, I had to go for my annual mammogram *-* seriously when are they going to design a better test?! Holy squish, squash and flatten ... not a great experience. But, whinning aside, the last time I was at the x-ray place I was mortified when they gave me the middle size of gown and I couldn't close it, I had to ask for a bigger gown, so humiliating. Well, this time I got the medium gown .. and yip it fit comfortably! The small victories are so satifying :)
