FAB@BTBS Beauty Buzz: Queen of the Hive Natural Lipcare

It's almost spring thankfully, but until then I still have to deal the lasting 'side effects' of winter, like chapped lips! I've been applying a basic petroleum-based lip balm but that's really only useful for prevention rather than healing, so I was very excited to hear about Wedderspoon Organic's Queen of the Hive Natural Lipcare...

Queen of the Hive Natural Lipcare is made from Manuka beeswax, Manuka honey, shea butter, olive oil, cocoa butter, rosemary oil and peppermint. The Beeswax is a handy ingredient as it's water repellent - this is key as chapped lips are primarily caused by licking your lips when they feel dry. It's also rich in Vitamin A (BTBS loves vitamins!) which can assist in repairing damaged lips. The honey adds to this with it's own anti-bacterial properties, protecting your lips whilst they're vulnerable.

I've had very dry lips over the last few months (and I seem to bite them when lifting weights?!) so far , applying this frequently has been the only product to heal them. It makes a pleasant change from other lip balms which seem to just hang around on my lips waiting for the wind to blow my hair into it!

I particularly like the addition of peppermint, which as well as being soothing, makes you feel fresher and recreates that mint-mouthwash-in-the-morning feeling. Many people agree that smelling mint distracts you from any sweet cravings you might get, so the next time someone brings cake into the office, apply this!

Queen of the Hive Natural lip balm is priced at £3.99 and is available from John Bell & Croyden in store at 50-54 Wigmore Street, London, W1A 2AU and online at

I received a free sample of the lipbalm for the purpose of review but was not compensated in any other way. As always, opinions are my own!
