Over the last four years, I have developed a passion for running. I just love getting outside and running for 30 to 60 minutes. It is a great way for me to push my body to the max and clear my mind after a hard day of work. Over the past couple of years, I have been unable to find any other exercise that gives me the same full body workout as running. A few days ago, my girlfriend asked me to go to a spinning class with her. I was tentative at first because I thought that spinning was a class just for women. I was surprised to learn that the class was about 50% guys and 50% girls. I have to admit that I was a bit sceptical because I didn’t think I would be able to work my body as hard as I normally do, but I shortly discovered that I was wrong. Spinning is done on a stationary bike, this bike contains a knob which can increase or decrease the amount of resistance while you are pedaling. I kept the resistance at a high level for the hour long spinning class and I was walking slowly for the next hour because my quads were so soar, especially going down stairs. It was exciting for me to discover an alternative exercise that can push my body to it’s limits besides running.
