Exercising in Spurts Can Help Make You Lose Weight

According to Japanese researchers, sitting for 20 minutes between 30-minute workout sessions actually helps burn fat a lot faster than simply exercising without taking a break. The study tested the blood of seven men during and after exercise on a stationary bike. When the workout was broken into two half-hour portions, their body tended to break fat more than when they exercised for one full hour. Researchers speculate that this may be due to a rapid decrease in insulin and a greater boost of epinephrine, chemical reactions that may contribute to fatty deposits being broken down.
