When you're on a weight loss diet, there are certain factors that put you at high risk for falling off.
Of course, you already know what some of these factors are, no doubt. Often they have to do with being distressed - maybe by loneliness, or loss, or anxiety, or a crisis in a relationship. Whatever puts you into emotional distress weakens you psychologically.
When you are under the influence of this kind of distress, it is most difficult to think and behave at your optimum.
We all experience intense, distressing feelings, and we'd like to be able to cope with them as well as we can.
Many people who overeat do so to cope better with their emotional distress. In that case, a diet alone isn't effective.
If you can relate to this, make sure you give it a lot of thought before you go blindly into your next weight loss diet.
