Eating better

When I started doing Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle back in July I really was paying a lot of attention to my macronutrients (% of protein, carbs, fat, etc) but in the past month or so I've really slipped with that. I think a big part of it is that in the past many weeks I haven't been putting my food into fitday.com like I was. So from today I'm going back to doing that. I really need to work on upping my protein, fruits and veggies and having things more balanced. I use to eat many pieces of fruit a day even if I wasn't getting in my veggies and I've even been slacking on that. I'm really going to focus on food the next few weeks and see if I can't lose those last 4 lbs to put me in the 220's by the end of the year. It's really not such a big thing to do since I do have 4 weeks.

Hubby and I went to the gym last night and got in a good workout. I was really tired though and having a pain in my stomach area. I'm sure it was from eating that left over spaghetti from my daughter's plate before we left for the gym. I know better than to eat anything heavy before the gym but I was feeling hungry and it was there, never a good combo. Anyway, I did make it through the workout and even got in 40 mins of cardio too. We talked to our old trainer too and she commented that she thought our workout was a good one and that she could tell both of us had lost weight so that was nice to hear. I really wish she had been more invested in us because I do like her.

I talked to my mom yesterday so I'll be picking her up to spend Christmas with us on the 23rd and taking her back home on the 26th. She lives in Baltimore 2 hours away from us. I'm glad she'll be spending Christmas with us because I think we both enjoy it better being together.

I ordered all the kids and myself a little MP3 player today. They are called SanDisk Sansa Clip. I have another version of a sandisk and I've been very happy with it so I'm excited about one that I can actually clip onto my shirt, etc. A 2GB one is on sale right now for $29.99 and the 4GB for $39.99 through Amazon. I think it's a great deal and the perfect thing for younger kids since they tend to be hard on stuff. I sure wasn't going to spend $100-200 on an IPOD type one. The nephew had an IPOD one he bought with his Birthday money one year and it seemed broken almost right away and then we finally figured out how to fix it and then he lost it lol. The SanDisk is very easy to hook to my laptop and put music on it also has a regular radio on it which I think is nice. Anyway, I'm excited about them.

I'm glad it's Friday. The nephew's girlfriend is coming over tonight and I'm planning on having a little chat with them both. This whole teen stuff is new to me and I really want to handle it right. So far I think I've done ok. It's really that the nephew lost my trust in the beginning before I had even met the girl so it's made it hard now for me to trust either of them. But really it's all in their hands what they are ultimately going to do. I mean they can find a way to do things if they really want so I think my best defense is to just lay it out on the table and talk about it. It's clear that she's not talking about sex at her house and wants to keep her parents believing that she's totally innocent. Anyway, it's going to be a tough conversation for me I'm sure. I'm finding myself wanting to eat but so far I'm hanging in there and haven't headed to the candy bowl.

Tomorrow is hubby's company Christmas party. I'm looking forward to going. I have to figure out what I'm going to wear. Will be interesting seeing some of the folks I haven't seen in a year.

I'm planning on trying to walk in the morning if it's not super cold. I haven't been on a walk down my favorite road in awhile, will be nice. Sunday I plan on going to the gym and getting in my 3rd workout for the week. Next week I'll have off from weight training, it'll feel weird. I still plan on going to the gym though and doing cardio.
