Disturbing news about excess body fat

Posted Jan 07 2009 2:46pm

Have you ever wondered why TV infomercials never talk to you about heart disease, diabetes and other health problems associated with being overweight?

That’s a serious question. Sit back in your chair and really ponder it for a moment.

If you’ve ever spoken to a person that had a serious health issue that could have been PREVENTED if they’d taken better care of themselves, well, they ALL regret not having taken better care of their bodies when they had the chance.

You see, people actually don’t care about their health until they lose it.  People don’t typically pay for prevention. No, they pay for CURES.

I guess that’s just the way it is. TV infomercial makers sure know it to be true. They know the vast majority of people are concerned with beauty.

And I’ll let you in on another little secret. The people that actually succeed at long-term fat loss do so because they have a total shift in their thinking.

They stop worrying about what they look like naked. They start to care about their well-being. And they know that doing all the right things to nurture their body will naturally result in them melting the fat off their belly, butt, hips and thighs.

The two go hand and hand. It’s just the emphasis that is shifted.

Now, let me get off my soap box for a moment and tell you flat out that I will continue to talk to you about fat loss for reasons other than your health.

I have to. I have a wife and daughter to feed.

But  I can promise you I will NEVER lie to you about what it takes to succeed at this. I’ll never be one of those scum bag marketers that lies to you about magic pills and potions.

I’ll never tell you that exercise isn’t vital.

So let’s get back to my original question. Have you thought about it? Are you ready to start taking care of yourself for all the right reasons?

If you are then I hope you’ll join me on a journey down a path that leads to an entirely new you.  Join me on the Five Week Fat Loss experience and discover the happy, healthy body you’re meant to live in.

Yours in health,

Jayson Hunter, RD, CSCS

PS –Experience  Five Week Fat Loss for yourself and feel better about your body than you have in years.  Remember the program closes tomorrow at noon CST and won't open again until March.

PPS- This is exactly what I’m talking about:

"Well, today's a good day for me to give you feedback on how things are going for me:  it's my 54th birthday and I'm more aware than ever before that my body is something to make a priority and to safeguard against many of the preventable aging issues.

I can tell you that after about 10 days of the Five Week Fat Loss program, I have lost nearly five pounds, feel better and look forward to losing more weight.

I have already shared my belief in the Five Week Fat Loss program because after many jump starts with trying various approaches to diet and exercise, I am convinced this is a very predictable, manageable, nutritional program and it does get results. I really like having the sample menus laid out and that allows me to make sure I'm prepared with all the groceries I will need. I love having new recipes that integrate what I've learned in the 5-week Fat Loss program into practical application. The keys to success with Five Week Fat Loss program are: following the plan to the letter at first so that you know you have given yourself the best possible odds for success; planning, planning, planning so you have the food you need; keep your eye on the prize - do NOT hesitate to climb back into the carb rotation plan IMMEDIATELY if you do have a slip; and celebrating the healthy foods you are eating. My dinner plates are colorful, appetizing and I feel good about myself when I look at all the fresh produce or "live" food, as I call it.

I think the thing I'm most excited about with the Five Week Fat Loss program is that it really feels like a program I can live with for the rest of my life. I don't feel like I've gone into Diet Brain mode where I'm on this plan until I'm off this plan. With the Five Week Fat Loss program, it's not a deprivation issue, it's a planning and focus issue. I can do this! I'm not hungry, there is plenty of healthy, fresh food coming in a few hours, no matter what, and I'm really liking the fact that the pounds are coming off, even with my middle-age, slowing down metabolism. After years of yo yo dieting and feeling that inevitable sense of failure each time I hit that plateau or re-gain some weight, I have the tools I need to move forward for the long haul and I have the confidence in myself to stay the course.

The ongoing support, Jayson, has been incredible and joining the monthly meal plan option is such a great thing for me because I enjoy trying new recipes and it eliminates the boredom factor. All in all, I would call this program a true success in every sense of the word and I look forward to getting back to you in a month or two when I've had more time to accomplish more results."
