Haven't lost weight, have been working out but to no avail.

I can sympathize. I am in the same boat. The important thing is to keep working and maybe something will happen. (at least that is what I am wishing for...)
Don't forget to measure. When you start working out you gain muscle mass and reduce size before you see actual weight loss. Also you might consider a visit with a nutritionist.
Daisy, Has drinking water helped at all? I always think of water as a "fat flusher" and it helps me lose after good work outs!
