The old way of trying to solve a weight problem is just to go on another diet plan.
The new way is to learn from your mistakes. Then go on another diet plan.
This time make sure you can stick to it.
Here's a deceptively simple exercise to do before you take the diet plunge.
Write a page-long description of the last diet you went on. Remember as much as you can about the experience. For example:
How long were you on the diet
How did you feel about being on it
Did you cheat
What did you do after you cheated
Did you lose weight
Was it hard for you
What were the hardest parts
Looking back, could you have handled dieting differently
Were there certain everyday trouble spots
What can you do this time about those trouble spots
A woman might say to herself, "this diet plan just doesn't work." But the truth is, you work your diet plan. And the more you know about yourself with regard to dieting, the better chance you have of sticking with it. And if you can stick with it, you'll lose the weight you want to lose.
