I love yummy snacks. Here are some suggestions for fellow snackers on a weight loss adventure!
Healthy eating today requires some preparation, but most importantly do not let your blood sugar level drop, as that will surely be detrimental to your weight loss journey. When that happens, we tend to get tired and energy levels are at an all time low. That is why snacking during the day is so important. However, snacking is not a meal nor is it a replacement for a healthy meal. The average snack should be around 100 calories. So here are some great snacks that will keep you going:
1. CUP OF YOGURT – Keep it low in fat and sugarless…YoPlait is my favorite. 2. PIECE OF FRUIT – An average grapefruit is about 90 calories and so is half of a cantaloupe. 3. AN APPLE – Dab (dab!) some peanut butter on it and double the delicious. 4. PROTEIN BARS – High in fiber and protein, but low in sugar. 5. FROZEN YOGURT – A healthy scoop will do just right. 6. CUT UP VEGGIES – with bean dip or hummus. Don’t you just love dipping?! 7. STRING CHEESE – I like eating mine with an apple.
