What a beautiful day for a run! It was a balmy 49 deg. when I finished. Couldn’t be more perfect running weather than that. Not too hot, not too cold, but just right! Now I sound like “Goldilocks the runner” don’t I lol?
Been a hard week with the muscle pain again which I’m chalking up my Crestor. I plan to continue on as long as I can with that medication but when January comes and 25K training time is here, I may have to drop taking it again for a few months so we’ll see.
It still amazes me after 3 years now that I have stayed with this routine of fitness and general health improvement. My cholesterol is staying under control, my type II diabetes is staying under control, and my blood pressure is also staying under control. What more can I say? Is it worth it? The answer is absolutely yes!
If you are looking for a reason to start a fitness regimen, don’t wait. What more reason than what I just listed do you need? My health was pitiful and look at me now. I feel better at 50 than I did at 35 and I mean that! Think your too fat to start? Your not. The main problem I still see with most of the overweight people I know, is simply getting started and then maintaining it.
I don’t recommend doing it the way I did, which was alone although it worked for me, but find a friend to work out, walk, run, whatever, with you. It will help! Sign up for local 5K runs/walks in your area and start setting personal goals for each event. Most run about $20 and you not only do you help yourself but most of these events are helping some other cause so you have twice the reason to do so!
