News flash: a simple 10 minutes of brisk exercise per day can make you see immediate results in weight loss and toning. A team of researchers from Louisiana State University discovered that overweight or obese, sedentary women who began exercising an average of 72 minutes per week increased peak oxygen consumption by 4.2 percent. This equals a simple 10 to 15 minutes of exercise per day. However, recommendations call for 30 minutes of exercise on most days of the week, and a group of women who increased the amount of time they exercise accordingly increased their fitness by 8.2 percent.
