So according the the Couch to 5k schedule this is how today is suppose to go: 5 minute brisk walk, then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for 20 minutes.
Here's how it really went 5 minute walk: sometimes brisk sometimes we had to stop jog for 90 seconds (as you can see I already have it a little wrong) walked for 60 seconds (sometimes stopping) then somewhere down the line we decided that 60 sec. each sounded good, but of course there was still some stopping going on, and not always 60 sec. of jogging....this is what happens when you live in a neighborhood without any sidewalks, and you have a 4 year old on a bike.
Overall I think it went pretty good, especially since I just figured out that I was only supposed to be jogging for 60 seconds at a time. My shins felt it, but I stretched out and am doing ok now. I know in time it won't be so bad. Of course since we did this as a family my husband had to show off and was running backwards and sideways...a bit discouraging, especially since he was like 10 feet in front of me the whole time, but I'll just have to get over it. I really want to do this as a family so, I guess we just have to work towards achieving the same pace.
