Compulsive overeating is a real weight loss challenge

Are you Pam?

I just can't lose weight. I mean, I've been on every diet plan there is and I just can't lose it. There is something about my metabolism that is off. I know this. I'll keep trying, but I don't suppose it will do any good.

The fixed centerpiece of Pam's kitchen table is an ever-filled bowl of M&Ms - for the kids. Pam grabs some several times a day as she passes. It's so automatic, so smooth an act, she doesn't catch what she's doing.

Pam also goes on a diet but never sticks to it on the weekend. She eats anything and everything from Friday night until Monday morning, traditional back-to-diet day.

Pam also nibbles off plates after dinner, hates to see leftover food going to waste. She doesn't count this as real eating, though, because she isn't sitting down to the table.
