Choir trip

Posted by Faith G.

I'm going on a trip to Bulgaria with my college choir (and a certain tenor) and I don't care HOW nerdy that just sounded. I weigh about 175-180 pounds right now. I carry my weight well so nobody would guess I weigh that much but I would still like to be between 135 and 140. I believe that would be around my perfect weight. We leave May 25th or something like that. That gives me 7 whole months to lose 40 pounds. Oh my gosh. I'm gonna have to be dedicated.

It took me just a little bit over 7 months to lose 40 pounds, but I'm sure our tactics were a little different. I'm sure you can do it, and continue to keep us updated!
I love that you gave yourself enough time to get the job done.
There are approximately 30 weeks between now and May 25th and with a goal of 40 pounds over the next 30 weeks, that's just over 1 pound per week. A healthy weight loss is approximately 2 pounds per week, so this is doable. You just have to be very motivated and stay on track! Nirmala's story is very inspiring - You should update us weekly and let us know how you're doing. Community support will help you stay on track and motivated. That's if the certain tenor isn't enough motivation :)
I had a close friend who lost 50 pounds in four and a half months before her wedding. I didn't think she'd be able to do it, at least not in a healthy way, but she surprised me. She got a personal trainer, changed her dieting habits, did a lot more outdoor activities, and she emerged looking incredible and equipped with lots of newfound confidence. What was great about her is that she didn't starve herself or cultivate bad eating habits; she really educated herself about being healthy while losing weight so it was still fun to go out with her because she wasn't one of those girls who only orders a salad at dinner. :) I would also recommend joining a support group. I know my friend's generous network of kindred spirits and associates really helped her to stay motivated, even when it felt like she was never going to attain her goal.
