Carnie Wilson,  who has been dealing with a serious weight regain at eight plus years post RNY surgery has just dropped 40 lbs.  Go Carnie.  208 - 40 lbs = 168lbs.  She's says she's preparing to get knocked up again.  She tells OK Magazine,

"My new thing is cooking comfort food for others — like bread puddings and banana bread — but not eating it myself. I do a lot of tasting and spitting out!"

At least she's honest, right?

(Say what you will, chewing and spitting is a slippery slope, be careful.  It can lead to dangerous paths of chewing, spit and lots of other disordered behaviors.  Lots of post WLS people DO THIS because we overeat, "just want a taste," or for other reasons, and need to spit out whatever is in our mouths.  I just wanted to add the disclaimer that it can be a dangerous habit.)

You know, a lot of us post weight loss surgery find a sort of comfort is cooking for other people, because, we can't do it for ourselves in the same way anymore.

Present company not really included, I have yet to find cooking enjoyable, it makes me absolutely miserable.  Though, I really, really LOVE the eating part.  I love being SERVED a deliciously prepared meal that was made by someone ELSE.  If Carnie were to make a banana bread?  I'd be in the kitchen, slathering that shit with cream cheese, but I wouldn't make it myself.  My husband, also post RNY, would though, you know that!

But, regardless, I am glad to see her making a positive change again, this far out, because, it's a reminder that no matter what - no matter who - WLS is not a forever fix - it's like a Band-Aid - it falls off - and we have to give it constant attention.

And, she was just on Tyra, fighting the fat fight.  I liked what she had to say.
