Blood Test Results.

Posted Oct 23 2008 9:19pm

Highly exciting, my labs from last week came back.

  • Fasting Glucose:  83 mg.  (I am always about this level.)
  • A1c:   5.6%  ( Somehow I thought this would be lower, as this number corresponds with an average glucose of 121?   But I have very little understanding of diabetes/glucose, etc...)

Most everything else is normal, good cholesterol,

...except hemoglobin, hemocrit + platelets, all low, but better than in the past for ME.

Also low calcium, and Vitamin D.

When I go back Friday - for further testing, the doctor added that she will test my cortisol levels, if I become hypoglycemic during the test.

" Cortisol: should be high during hypoglycemia if pituitary and adrenals are functioning normally"

More about hypo follows...
