Ben & Jerry’s Lighten Up!

Posted Aug 24 2008 10:11pm

Ben & Jerrys Lighten Up I hope this isn’t a “What are you, living under a rock” find but I just (re)discovered that Ben & Jerry’s has a lighter line.

The husband wanted to get a treat for himself and good old B&J’s were 2 for $5 so I just HAD to take look. I figured I could get a fun flavor and go home, separate it into 4 portions and have a ready go ‘splurgy’ dessert. I mean a life without Ben & Jerry’s is, well, you know.

So I approach the freezer and see this whole “Lighten Up” row. Umph, I think, as I turn the container over to read the nutritional information, and I’m pleasantly surprise to see a very point friendly treat!

I don’t know about you, but a 3 point Ben & Jerry’s treat sounds good to me! Not that we can’t have the “real stuff” but I’d rather save the 3 points or better yet, have 2 servings! ;~P

Now, I know you are wondering, does it taste the same? Well, I haven’t had the “real” stuff in a long time and after having this I don’t think I ever need to again. It was creamy, chocolaty and had a ton of delicious brownie goodness!

Note: I still separated it into 4 servings. I just can’t be trusted with a pint of anything in the freezer. It’s a just TOO easy to grab it, plop in front of the TV and, uh, before you know it, its gone. I often wondered why they didn’t just market the pint as 1 serving. ;~)
