Today I got an email from The Sisterhood, inviting me to join the Olympics. Curious, I clicked the link and quickly realized they had organized something I definitely wanted to be a part of!
They had set up several events for everyday between Friday, February 12 through Sunday, February 21. I loved the fact that it was super-organized and included a space to RSVP for each event, as well as an automatic way to put the event on my iCal (or Outlook). Too cool!
I’ve signed up for the following events, and I can’t wait to participate:
Friday, Feb. 12: 6 miles cycling and 3 minutes of push ups
Saturday, Feb. 13: 3 minutes of crunches
Sunday, Feb. 14: 3 minutes of jump rope (I’ll finally get to use the electronic one I got from Progresso!)
Monday, Feb. 15: plank hold as long as I can
Tuesday, Feb. 16: Wall Sit Squat Hold as long as I can
Wednesday, Feb. 17: 6 minutes of hula hooping (I’m going to do virtual hula hoops on the Wii Fit)
Thursday, Feb. 18: 6 minutes of rowing
Friday, Feb. 19: Elliptical 5K
Saturday, Feb. 20: 5 minutes of jumping jacks
Sunday, Feb. 21: 10 minutes of stair climbing
There are lots of other events, including 5k runs and walks, a mini triathlon, a 1/2 marathon, etc. Something for every fitness level.
I cannot wait to get started, because it just seems so fun. What better what to celebrate the amazing Olympic athletes than to push myself to do things I don’t normally do? This is going to fit in perfectly with my Bella Boot Camp for my week off next week. I can’t wait to see how many Activity Points I rack up!
