It will be interesting as the meal-delivery market continues to grow and take on more respectable competitors.
She's got a huge selling point on her side- chef designed meals, no preservatives, fresh prepared and delivered. Whereas NutriSystem is pre-packaged, shelf-stable food with the preservatives, sodium, etc. I think her loyal following and quality selling point will be a great advantage.
So will this be available everywhere? I'm having a hard time understanding how they can provide fresh food at that price point. Sounds great. Although it's not ever something I could see myself using long term (that's still a lot of cash!), it seems like a great way to 'retrain' yourself when you fall into out of whack eating habits.
I agree- I think it's a smart way to re-learn portion sizes, balanced meals, proper nutrition, etc. For the mother or father of a family, it's probably cost prohibitive after a certain point; but these programs are incredibly popular with single, working and traveling individuals who otherwise don't have the time (or interest) to prepare themselves.
As far as shipping, they use what they call "chill-fresh" packs. Prepared fresh and quickly packaged in a chilled container, then express shipped via FedEx.
It will deliver USA-wide. Bistro MD and Biggest Loser Meal Plan are two similar meal delivery programs that have made the fresh delivery work.
