Like many days this summer it started out raining. It stopped pretty early and started to dry up, so hubby and I were still on for our first tennis match that we’ve been talking about for a while. The sub-division that we moved into has a tennis court and neither of us has any experience playing, but thought it would be fun, so off we went:
We played for 2 hours and it felt like 30 minutes tops! It was so much fun, it was hard to believe that it knocked 550 calories to pieces. It was soooo much fun and I hope that we can make it a weekly match! It was pretty close, but he beat me. I’m a pretty easy going “for fun” kind of game player, but given that hubby plays NO sports at all (short of the PS3 kind) and is completely INactive, I was kind of bummed that I didn’t mop the floor with him. I’m no pro athlete, but at least I work up a sweat on a fairly regular basis. Next time I’ll beat him for sure because I was getting pretty good by the end of it. He’s camera shy and has told me many times he would rather not be posted on here, so ya’ll will have to take my word for it. He enjoyed himself and it was a wonderful way to spend time together (even if I’m already plotting his defeat in our next re-match).
After we got home I promptly made a post-workout meal of some Sunny Crunch Muesli, fresh raspberries, chia seeds, hulled hemp seeds, Artisana Amazon Bliss, skim milk and unsweetened coconut:
I’m off to mow the front yard. I spent 1 hour and 15 minutes mowing the back yesterday (it was looong and I was using the bag that I had to dump out every 30 seconds) and ya know what? It was my very first time EVER mowing the lawn. I know, right?! I never had to mow the grass before ever! It was hard work, but I actually enjoyed it. I burned 450 calories doing it too. It feels great to be doing things and being active!
