Advantra Z ® .. Better Known as Bitter Orange

Advantra Z ® is an extract derived from Citrus Aurantium that contains small amounts of alkaloids such as Synephrine and Octopamine. It’s better known as the Chinese herb, Bitter Orange.  These alkaloids are related to the ones in Ephedrine and have similar effects on the increase of the metabolism in the body and the breakdown and oxidation of stored fat.

Advantra Z® became popular after the weight loss ingredient Ephedra was banned by the FDA. It has often been used to replace it because it mimics several of the same properties of Ephedra.

Citrus for Weight Loss

Herbs and fruits derived from the citrus plant have been used in a variety of foods for their health benefits. When using it for weight loss, the agents in it can help improve physical performance and fitness, as well as increasing the metabolism.

One or two pills of Advantra Z® is like eating 40 or more pints of orange juice a day.

The main alkaloids of the citrus abstract are Synephrine and N-methyltyramine, which are used in medicine in Europe, but has been replaced by Ephedrine in the United States. These alkaloids in the citrus plant have shown properties similar to those of Ephedrine by stimulating lipolysis (loss of fat without surgery).

Does Advantra Z® cause the side effects like Ephedra?

Taking Ephedra causes the heart to race and an increase in blood pressure. Advantra Z® does not cause these negative side effects, but it still has the same weight loss effects on the body by increasing the ability to burn fat more efficiently.

How does Advantra Z® work?

The alkaloids of the citrus found in Advantra Z® are Synephrine, N-methyltyramine, and Octopamine. They show similar properties to Ephedrine by increasing the activation of B-receptors, which are effective in stimulating the breakdown of fat.

How does Advantra Z® work without causing the same side effects of Ephedra?

Ephedra also works by stimulating the B-receptors. The difference between the two is that Ephedra increases all B1, B2, and B3 receptors, while Advantra Z® only increases the B3 receptor. The B3 receptor is the one responsible the increase in metabolism, while receptors B1 and B2 are responsible for the increase in heart rate and blood pressure. By only increasing the B3 receptor Advantra Z® is able to break down fat without all the side effects of that Ephedra causes.
